Immune-boosting tea
Fall is around the corner, and you know what that means – flu season will soon be in full swing! I haven't had the best immune system in recent years, and since I caught bronchitis at the end of 2023, I often tend to be congested and get sick easily. But no worries, because whenever I'm feeling under the weather, I turn to this trusty tea that works like magic. So, if you find yourself in the sick boat this winter, do yourself a favor and whip up a cup of this immune-boosting tea! 🫖
Ingredients
3 cups of water
The juice of 2 lemons
The juice of an orange + some of the peel
A big chunk of fresh ginger (about 5 cm/ 2 inches)
A small chunk of fresh turmeric (about 2-3 cm/ 1 inch)
1 cinnamon stick + 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Freshly cracked black pepper
1 big teaspoon of good-quality honey
Directions
Add all of your ingredients to a pot, except for the honey. Simmer (no boiling!) on medium heat for about 5 to 10 minutes.
Turn off the heat. Add the honey, and stir until it dissolves.
You're done! Serve it hot with an additional teaspoon of honey.
